Marietta’s, A Mother’s Touch Cleaning Service wants to share a ‘secret’ with our valued patrons.

We hear on a daily basis the common terms; ‘clean’..’ sanitize’..and ‘disinfect’. As the recent Covid 19 pandemic still lingers and has made us more aware of our surroundings, one question might arise.

“Are my cleaning products as effective as they could be?”

Honestly, there are costly products that clean, sanitize but are not necessarily disinfecting all areas.

Let me further explain....

So what’s the Difference Between Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfecting?

Cleaners remove dirt. Be sure you are using the right type of cleaner for the soil you need to remove. Sanitizers kill certain bacteria, in a specific period, and are regulated by the EPA. Disinfectants kill certain bacteria, viruses, mildews, or fungi, in a specific period, and are also regulated by the EPA

Disinfecting is really what customers should be looking for right now.

According to dictionary.com:

Clean: free from dirt; unsoiled; unstained.

Sanitize: to free from dirt, germs, etc., as by cleaning or sterilizing.

Disinfect: to cleanse (rooms, wounds, clothing, etc.) of infection; destroy disease germs in.

Do all 3 matter? Yes. Essentially you want the area cleaned and sanitized before you disinfect! The secret is we ensure to do all three! Clean, Sanitize and most importantly disinfect!!

On our next blog “How do you know?” where we will be delving deeper into the world of disinfecting.
